Testimonials for First Steps for Strengthening Adoptive FamiliesAlthough I'm a clinician, I never considered using stories as a therapeutic intervention until I learned from your work. I did tell stories to my adopted older children more than a decade ago. At bedtime I told them "Once Upon A Time" stories about a mom who needed kids, and kids who needed a mom, but I didn't think about using stories in a clinical setting. Thanks for being a terrific mentor! I really enjoyed the books and DVD, they are among the few items I own, that I do not loan out. I think the Family Attachment Narrative techniques are wonderful, and appear to be extremely beneficial in working with children adopted from the foster care systems or from any other type of instutionalized setting where early life experiences are not optimal.
