As of June, we are offering individual, family, and group therapy both in person and via telehealth. In person, we follow CDC and MN Department of Health guidelines to minimize the risk of spreading infection. Please contact us with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
4/4 We continue to conduct sessions via teletherapy and to progress toward opening a new office space. 3/31 As of April 1 we will no longer offer services at our Minnetonka Blvd location, where we have been for over 20 years. We are temporarily converting to teletherapy only, but plan to open a new office within a few weeks (after the shelter at home order). Our phone system will continue to operate with the same phone numbers. Stay tuned for more information!
3/23 We continue to provide help and support to people in need. We have the option of teletherapy, as well as traditional in-office visits. Our office is regularly sanitized and we observe social distancing recommendations. Therefore, we are currently unable to provide in-office play therapy to children. 3/19/20 Update We continue to see clients in our office, with improved sanitization and social distancing procedures in place. We also offer sessions via teletherapy, available to current and new clients. Contact us if you need more information or have questions.
Evening Update 3/16/2020
We sanitized the office today to the best of our abilities (special thanks to Rob and Melissa!). At this point we plan to continue to offer sessions in the office to adult and some younger (adolescent and child) clients. If a client requires play therapy, we are making the difficult decision not to provide in person services at this time. We are exploring telemedicine options, but at the current time we are uncertain what insurances will cover the cost of telemedicine. Therefore, if you are healthy and symptom-free, we ask that you present to the office in person for your scheduled appointment. Someone from our office will contact you if we need to reschedule your appointment.
3/15 The Family Attachment Center recognizes the need to continue to provide services to our clients while also taking proper precautions to safeguard the health of our clients and staff. We are considering multiple options to continue our mission in the medium and long term. We will continue to monitor changes at the local, state, and federal levels in this dynamic and rapidly changing situation.
We will close our office for Monday March 16 to work on sanitizing the office. All appointments scheduled for this day will be cancelled. At this point we plan to resume operations Tuesday March 17, keeping in mind guidelines for social distancing.
After reviewing guidelines from multiple sources including the Minnesota Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control, we are instituting the following changes effective immediately.
- We encourage all clients to self monitor for symptoms of illness and to cancel appointments when experiencing any of the common symptoms of COVID-19, influenza, or other infectious diseases. All late cancel fees for these reasons will be waived.
- We are suspending group therapy until further notice. This includes the adult DBT group that meets on Mondays and children’s social skills group that meets on Tuesdays.
- We are taking steps to sanitize the office. This will include the removal of books and toys from the waiting area. We will increase the frequency of cleaning the front bathroom and waiting room areas. We will limit the back bathroom to staff only. We will discontinue the use of some of the office spaces and the toys so that we can better maintain the ones we are using. Clients are likely to notice other changes.
